"Why is it called Irish Lemons?"
Many people ask this question!
The answer is inspired. I wanted a unique business name. One that had never been used before, and one that would inspire happy feelings whenever spoken, whenever heard, and whenever written—even after many years of use.
"Irish," because Ireland is one of the most beautiful and spiritual places I have ever experienced, with happy memories of the Irish people, St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, the abbeys, the coastline, the countryside, the cities, the hamlets, the castles, the Irish coffee, the music, and the souvenirs.
"Lemons," because lemons are bright, cheerful, and refreshing; and my Bonsai lemon tree glows with happiness. It's a tiny tree that produces the most beautiful, full-size, yellow/orange, sweet lemons I've ever tasted.
The tree began in southern California (like me), and was given to me in a happy gesture of friendship by a Chinese immigrant educated as a teacher in China, who now spends his life in Los Angeles caring for Bonsai his plants. The tree has been in my care for nearly 10 years and is almost 20 years old. It once enjoyed the sunny climate of California, and now thrives through the snowy winters of Oregon. The tree always brings a smile to my face.
